What do I have to do?

All coaches have to have a current working with children check.

All coaches once appointed have to register on MyFootball – details will be given when you are approved as a coach.

Your prime objective as a Coach is to ensure that the players enjoy their football and develop their skills.

In the younger grades (6-8) the focus is on fun and exercise but along the way they should learn the basic ball skills and the rules of the game.

In the older grades technique, skill and rules need to be developed and refined.

Do I need experience?

All coaches that have not done appropriate courses and do not have any accreditation must do at least a Grass Roots Coaching Course.

A Coaches Seminar will be run in 2018 (more details later).

Can I get help?

Definitely! Please contact the Club Coaching Co-ordinator or an Executive of the Club for any assistance.

Useful Tips

  • Get a list of your team members and note the parent/guardians mobile numbers.  Its easier to text them to tell them of any changes or cancellations to training/game day than it is to phone everyone individually.
  • Leave the day to day admin of your team to your Manager and focus on and enjoy coaching your team.
