Get on board and support Swansea Football Club’s project to improve Chapman Oval!
Swansea Football Club recently applied for a My Community Project Grant for a share of $260K in funding for projects to improve the wellbeing of people & our local community by making improvements to Chapman Oval at Swansea that would benefit many within our local community.
Great news! Our club’s project was 1 of 11 in our electorate to successfully make it to the voting stage. Projects with the highest number of points in each electorate will be funded up to the $260K available for each electorate. Votes are now open but will close soon on 15 August 2019.
So, please take a couple of minutes now, and use your power to vote to make a positive contribution to your local community. Should you choose the Chapman Oval Upgrade – Safety Fence & Multi-use Pathway Project as your 1st choice, you will be supporting a project that will provide multiple benefits to a large number of people from many different community groups.
To find out more about this project, and view all the projects you can vote for, go to: mycommunityproject.service.nsw.gov.au
You’ll need a MyServiceNSW Account & your Medicare card to vote!
What do you need to consider when deciding which projects to vote in?
If you are wanting to give our project the greatest chance of securing a grant, then you may elect to only select 3 projects (rather than contributing to points for 5 projects). You may also like to consider the $ cost of each grant. Only those projects with the highest number of votes, up to a total cost of $260K will be funded.
What this means is that if the project that gets the most points by the end of voting costs more than $87K, then even if the Chapman Oval Upgrade – Safety Fence & Multi-use Pathway Project (just under $174K) came second in votes, it could not be funded.
Please vote carefully, as you only have one vote, and it cannot be changed once submitted!
How are votes counted?
My Community Project uses a preferential voting system. This vote counting system gives points for each of your preferences. Points are awarded as shown below (1st = most preferred). At the end of voting, projects will be ranked based on each project’s total number of points.
POSITION POINTS 1st 10 points, 2nd 5 points, 3rd 3 points, 4th (optional) 2 points, 5th (optional) 1 point.
